Horse Show

Another day...another adventure! The Arabian Horse Show...a first for me. I have never seen such beautiful horses. The presentations were so beautifully done and so eloquent! We were talking with an older lady (yes, about my age) and her horse came directly to me. She said just to stand still...so I did, but as the horse got right in my face....well, let's say he ended up putting his nose on my neck and started nibbling! A girl just never knows where and when the good times will roll!!

Another Day of Adventures

On this trip we decided to drive up into the mountains. The picture of the dirt road is where we ended up and decided it was time we turned around. Jerry loved it. Got his "man truck" on the hills, and we were bouncing around all over the place. Decided to do a little hiking on the way back and got in "trouble" again!! This time we found ourselves in the middle of a five star resort called Boulders. Definitely not a place where the Price Girls would be found.

Adventures of Cave Creek

One thing that Jerry and I enjoy is simply taking off in the truck and having no idea where we are going. On this adventure, we ended up in Cave Creek. Again, this were like an old western town...including those on horseback.

We had a cold brew at the Silver Spur Saloon. Couldn't help but to think of my sister when I saw all those spurs on display!!! (she knows what I'm talking about!)

Oranges

Just a few blocks from our resort you will find many citrus groves. They line both sides of the streets for miles. I have tried to take pictures of these groves but they never seem to trap the beauty and the wonderful scent! The oranges are in the process of being harvested. As a result, we are able to buy five pounds of oranges for no more than a dollar. Jerry and I discovered the joys of making fresh orange juice!

Weekend with Family

Had a great weekend!! We were blessed with our first overnight visitor - DeAnne!!! She came down on Saturday afternoon and we took her to one of our favorite spots to eat...Tia Rosa. Got back to the resort did a time in the pool and hot tub. Of course we had to tell stories and drink a few beers and before we knew it...the evening was gone.
The next day we drove DeAnne up to Tortilla Flat. The drive through the desert mountains was breath taking. The clouds were low enough that they were hanging between the mountain tops. Yes, the Price Girls sat in the saddles at the bar and had a brew...just would not have been right not to.

DeAnne, Jerry and I found ourselves in an old western town. It was a good time. The local "bad guy" who is pointing his gun at me was upset because I told him that DeAnne and I were not his mail order brides!!!

Trip to Tortilla Flat

We've heard a lot of people talking about going to Tortilla Flat, so we decided to check it out for ourselves. You drive about 20 miles through the desert to get there. The drive itself was worth the trip. Guess I just never thought about the desert being beautiful, but boy was I wrong.
Had to try out the saddles at the bar and as I was sitting there, I notices the all the walls throughout the entire building were covered with one dollar bills. They were everywhere!! As you can see from the pic, Jerry would not listen to me when I told him to behave himself!!
